Tier 3..!

28/10/2020

First, thanks to all who joined in our Socially Distant Litter Pick a few weeks ago. Quite a few bags were filled and removed by Biffa a couple of days later.

Since then Greater Manchester has come under 'Tier 3' Covid restrictions – currently the highest level, meaning Very High Risk. Click here to see what this means.

Remember, these rules will only work if we all stick to them. To get on top of this virus, everyone has to play their part. Protect your neighbours by wearing a mask outdoors.
Hands - face - space!

The Ardwick and Longsight Covid Mutual Aid Group is a local community emergency response to the Covid-19 pandemic offering food support for those affected by the virus, either directly or indirectly through the lockdown precautions.

The Helpline number 07930 261 920 is in operation 7 days a week, between 10am and 3pm. Please leave a voicemail, or send a text message, with your request if the phone is not answered. All this information can also be found on the website and Facebook group.

There is also still the Manchester City Council website (www.manchester.gov.uk/coronavirus) and Helpline 0800 234 6123 for any other Covid-19 related issues, advice and information.

If you want to volunteer for this group contact Yasmin by email or phone 07425 536 823.

PLEASE PASS ON this information (safely) to any of your neighbours who may find it useful - in particular those who may be vulnerable and/or not 'online'.

Coronavirus

20/3/2020

These are strange and worrying days as the Coronavirus/Covid-19 crisis unfolds. It is important that we each take the expert medical advice to keep safe so the spread of the virus is kept manageable:
  • frequent hand-washing
  • minimal social contact
  • no unnecessary journeys
  • Use reliable sources for news and updates. such as www.manchester.gov.uk.
Let us also be considerate and compassionate to one another, to “love our neighbour as ourselves” – particularly the older and more vulnerable amongst us. Use your phone, text, WhatsApp, call round (but don’t go in!) to check on your neighbours. If you have to ‘self-isolate’, let others know so they can help – e.g. get shopping for you. #viralkindness
As someone said: “Keep safe, friends. Let’s panic a bit less, (for those that do) pray a little more, and ensure the only thing we are spreading is kindness.”
We can get through this together.

Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) precautions the Great Groves Spring Clean planned for this Saturday has been CANCELLED.

If any individuals would like to do a bit of litter-picking please go ahead. Leave the bags at the usual place at the North Grove end of Upper West Grove. We will arrange for them to be taken away. You may already have a picker and rubbish bags, but if not, send an email with your details and we can get those for you.

Keep safe. Be kind.
