Keeping on top of the litter

On April 21 we had the first of our regular small clean-ups. It was great to see a good number of volunteers out with litter-pickers and bags to pick-up litter from the streets that had collected since our big Spring Clean in March. Having these clean-ups every few weeks does not take much time and keeps the Groves looking good. The Council arranged for the bags we filled to be collected early the next week.

We also gave out some "Is this Your Rubbish?" notices to houses near where some rubbish bags or objects had been dumped – two leaflets with a photo of the rubbish. These were to warn whoever did it that there are big fines, and also to inform them of how to get help to dispose of their rubbish legally.
